Today on twitter one of the lead devs said that they decided to go 100 first person.

I do believe someone will make a 3rd person mod but it will most likely not be as polished as the rest of the game and you will probably have to wait a while after release. Cyberpunk 2077 has recently come under fire for reportedly doing away with any type of third person cutscenes which purportedly included sex scenes as well the community then got in a bit of an outrage proclaiming character customisation pointless. For those hoping that cyberpunk 2077 would go back on their choice to go first person i have bad news for you. Cyberpunk 2077 removes third person cutscenes locked first person only customization concerns duration.
Obviously this is far fetched as the game has not even been released yet but i d like to gauge for an idea if anyone was willing to create such custom option. It seems that it s confirmed that third person on foot is not going to be reality.
